High Impact Institute

About the Institute

The High Impact Institute team is dedicated to helping your organization unleash its potential. It was formed through the innovative partnership of Fargo, North Dakota-based Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) and Alex Stern Family Foundation, both of which saw a need for charities to go beyond grant dollars. They wanted nonprofit leaders to develop greater knowledge and skills, particularly around fundraising, and so the Institute has been designed to be a vehicle of innovation and collaboration. It aims to provide experiences that enrich and equip nonprofits to reach their goals and create the greatest impact possible for those they serve. Each of our team members brings unique expertise and experience to help support our mission of helping others do good. We work tirelessly to create and curate resources on behalf of nonprofit leaders.

For health and safety-related financing in rural communities, Dakota Business Lending provides a Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) to fit your organization’s needs. As a small business financing partner, your organization could benefit from a fixed-rate loan for up to 15 years with a maximum loan amount of $150,000 to provide support for your health and safety project. Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour fundraising event that’s raised more than $90 million for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota since its founding in 2008. Each year, on the second Thursday in February, this fundraising event encourages donors to find a charity (or several) to love. With the support of the High Impact Institute, charities receive the training, coaching, and resources they need to enhance their fundraising goals while expanding their organization’s incredible impact.
